A serial road-rage offender was filmed attacking two terrified women in the Sacramento area, only a day after she was released from jail for a similar incident.
The two victims, driver Vanessa Gladieux and passenger Delanie Strykul, crossed paths with Deirdre Orozco, 50, along Interstate 80 near Auburn, on Sunday, December 21.
Orozco was driving a silver Ford Explorer Sportrack and was seen pulling up in front of the women’s’ Mazda and getting out of her truck, allegedly claiming to be a sheriffs’ deputy and flashing a badge that read “Visiting Angels”.
“Her identification badge says ‘Visiting Angels’ and then it has her name, and we tried to Google it and Visiting Angels is like a senior home care place,” Gladieux said.
The two women then drove off and tried to get away but Orozco wouldn’t let go, and at some point, she slammed into the side of the Mazda. The passenger called 911 and managed to pull over at Dutch Flat into a gas station where there was an officer waiting in the car.
Much to the surprise of everyone, the 50-year old woman was not deterred by the cop and ran towards them.
“She even got out of the car then ran towards our car and the CHP officer had to yell at her mam stay in your car stay in your car,” Gladieux told FOX40.
According to the Auburn Journal, “Orozco was arrested on charges of suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon that isn’t a firearm and force that is likely to produce great bodily harm, reckless driving on a public street and obstructing a police officer”.
The woman had been arrested a week earlier for another road-rage incident that reportedly involved a hit and run.
“Orozco was previously arrested in the afternoon of December 17 for suspicion of a hit and run that she was involved in on the corner of Sunrise Ave. and Cirby Way in Roseville,” said Dee Dee Gunther, Roseville Police Department spokeswoman. “She proceeded to drive to her relatives’ house where she threw rocks through the windows, vandalizing the home and issuing threats of bodily harm.”
