Following in the footsteps of Lamborghini and Honda, Skoda has announced that its museum in the Czech Republic can now be visited virtually on Google Maps via Google Street View.
The virtual tour offers the possibility of exploring the exhibition in detail and even get behind the wheel of selected Skoda classics, such as the first automobile ever produced by the Czech manufacturer, the Voiturette A designed by the founding fathers Laurin and Klement. Other cars you can peek into are the L&K-Skoda 110, Skoda 860, Skoda Superb 4000, Skoda 1101 ‘Tudor’ Cabriolet, Skoda Popular Sport ‘Monte Carlo’ and Skoda 1000 MB.
“Our museum, which was reopened two years ago after extensive reconstruction, illustrates the great history of the Skoda brand, and attracts visitors from all over the world. We are now offering this fantastic opportunity and expanding our services to make the exhibition accessible from around the world 24/7,” said Andrea Frydlová, director of the Skoda Museum.
The experience also includes an in-depth walk around the Skoda VisionD design study and the cockpits of the Skoda 130 RS and Skoda Fabia Super 2000 race cars.
Modernized at the end of 2012, the Skoda Museum in Mladá Boleslav features around 340 exhibits on more than 1,800 square-meters, including passenger vehicles from series production, racing cars, prototypes, several dozen engines, four motorcycles and a bicycle.
The Skoda Customer Center in Mladá Boleslav can also be visited via Google Street View, with the facility including the carmaker’s current automobile lineup, bike collection and genuine accessories range.
