A Dodge dealership discovered their mistake after two months, having already sold one of their customers a Charger SE ($2,000 cheaper) instead of the SXT for which he paid for.
The error isn’t as small as you may think, because once you pay for something, you should get that product and not settle for anything less. The client paid for an SXT which features heated leather seats, a larger and better infotainment system along with 18″ satin carbon rims instead of the SE’s 17″ satin silver.
It seems like the error happened because the VIN numbers got mixed up and seen as though the loan, insurance and registration papers are all related to a Charger SXT which the customer did not receive, he was asked by the dealership to stop by their office to “sign a few things”.
Obviously we’re hoping that in the end, everything gets straightened out and he gets what he paid for. And taking into account the way in which the dealership have conducted themselves so far, it’s clear that they need to more than just own up to their mistake.
