There’s a shortage of original Ferrari 250 GTOs out there, with just 36 out of the 39 cars still remaining. They don’t go cheap, either: last we heard, the going rate was almost US$67 million.
Here’s the thing, though: you can buy a GTO for a lot less. In fact, a little under US$19,000 (US$18,671/£12,000) will secure you a replica built around a Mazda MX-5.
You’ll have to make do with a 115hp 1.6-liter four instead of the real item’s 3.0-liter V12 that pumped out 300hp and, of course, you won’t actually fool anyone that this is a 250 GTO, in spite of all the badging.
On the other hand, if it is your cup of tea, you can go ahead and click here to find it on eBay. Hurry up, too, as the bidding ends on Monday, 2:32PM.
