The new Mercedes GLE Coupe will be unveiled officially at the Detroit Auto Show, but it’s a good thing we don’t have to wait that long in order to get a closer look at it.
The car in this video shot by walkoART looks to be a stock GLE with the optional AMG exterior pack. It should give you a better idea of what the basic model looks like if you’re waiting in line to buy one. In all fairness, we’re pretty sure the car will generate lots of sales for Mercedes-Benz and will build a solid fan base, however there’s still something about its visual appearance that doesn’t quite hit the same notes as the sportier BMW X6.
The front looks truly imposing, which is always good, but the rear of the car is somewhat odd with those S-Class Coupe tail lights. They look a bit out of place on such a large SUV. One thing is for sure, technically the car will ride much better than the current ML (soon to be ML facelift/GLE facelift), so until a new generation of this mid size premium SUV shows up, the GLE Coupe will become the most dynamic Merc SUV you can buy.
The GLE Coupe, along side the new BMW X6 and the much anticipated Audi Q6, will be engaged in a long lasting 3-way battle in this very appealing segment.
