A possible new Lamborghini Aventador SV has been caught cruising along an Italian highway. The latest sighting definitely caught us by surprise as we have not come across an Aventador SV mule since back in April 2013.
Marchettino’s channel regularly features Hamann and Mansory-tuned Aventadors as well as enough rare Zagato-designed Lamborghinis to recognize an Aventador that has never been seen before and is completely new.
This time, the alleged Aventador SV mule features a wild Super Trofeo-style rear diffuser that is unlike anything ever installed on a standard Lamborghini Aventador. What’s more, a restyled quad exhaust setup further separates this matte black mule from the ordinary Lambo. However, we can’t help but notice the absence of the signature fixed GT wing that has been affixed to every Lamborghini SV model since the Diablo.
Lamborghini’s legendary “SV” moniker is short for Super Veloce, or Super Fast, a designation given to only the most hardcore V12 supercars from the Sant’Agata Bolognese factory. We expect the upcoming Lamborghini Aventador SV to boast more power, significant weight loss, and a slew of advanced aerodynamic components to make it the quickest and most capable Aventador yet.
Our last alleged Lamborghini Aventador SV sighting occurred last year at the Nurburgring. At the time, we noticed the Lamborghini prototype featured a new front lip spoiler, modified brake caliper position, and a new center-locking wheel.
According to Auto Evolution, an unnamed Lamborghini dealer claimed the Aventador SV is expected to arrive to markets by the second half of 2015. Stay tuned as we learn more in the months ahead.
