The new BMW M3 and M4 seem to have riled up quite a few people on the internet with their fake engine noise being pumped into the cabin.
They argue that it’s wrong to be piping in fake noise, when what they should actually be doing is making the car naturally louder.
Well, now Matt Farah as tried out a (manual) M4 for himself and he says it’s not a problem. He argues that the M3/M4 haven’t been given the system because they were not loud enough – the reason they got it was because the interior was just too refined and too little of the noise was penetrating the cabin.
He demonstrates this by cranking down the window and flooring it. Besides, if you’ve seen/heard a new M3 or M4 you’ll already know it really is quite loud, even if it’s still not the most pleasant noise in the world…
