Mercedes-Benz has announced that it has sold 1,486,839 vehicles worldwide in the first eleven months of the year, accounting for an increase of 12.4 percent over the same period in 2013.
That’s more than in the entire 2013 calendar year. “We have already topped the total sales of the previous year in November. This will turn 2014 into another record year for Mercedes-Benz,” said Ola Källenius, member of the Divisional Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Cars responsible for Marketing & Sales.
November was the eleventh consecutive month of record sales, with 150,742 units (up 13 percent), with strong demand coming from European markets. Mercedes sold 60,060 vehicles in Europe in November, 13.6 percent more than in the same month of the previous year.
Sales records were posted in all segments. In the compact car segment, 42,413 vehicles of A-, B-, CLA- and GLA-Class were sold in November (up 27.1 percent) and 417,848 units since the beginning of the year (up 24 percent). Sales of the C-Class Sedan and Estate rose 53.3 percent to 38,095 units in November, the highest ever number for this month.
Mercedes-Benz also delivered 235,485 E-Class Sedan and Estate models (up 9.7 percent) and 93,307 S-Class Sedans (up 88.6 percent) in the past eleven months. In November alone, 9,519 customers opted for a new S-Class Sedan (up 25 percent), a record for this month.
