You can now order a Mercedes B-Class Electric Drive in the UK starting from £31,950. Factor in the Office For Low Emissions Vehicles (OLEV) grant of £5,000, though, and you’re looking at an actual price of £26,950.
The B-Class ED can be had in two distinct flavors: Sport or Electric Art. The former is the cheaper of the two, while the latter will set you back £27,245 with the OLEV grant factored in.
Sport models still get plenty of kit, including unique design front and rear bumpers, 17-inch alloys, a 7-inch touchscreen, a reversing camera and climate control. Move up to Electric Art and the wheels grow to 18 inches and come with a two-tone finish and contrasting mirrors and grille elements plus blue stitching for the seats.
The only available option seems to be the £945 Energy Assist Package. It “features adaptive energy recuperation systems to sense – via the forward facing radar – road conditions. When traffic is identified, increased recuperation is employed to make the most of any deceleration.”
