We get an early look at the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe sports crossover thanks to a set of leaked official pictures on the net.
The final production model is very close to this year’s Mercedes-Benz Concept Coupe shown in Beijing, with the most significant difference spotted at the rear where the designers discarded the study’s prettier looking slim tail lamps running across the entire width of the SUV, replacing them with two larger separate units.
Inside, the GLE Coupe shares its dashboard with the upcoming M-Class facelift that will be renamed to GLE under Mercedes’ new nomenclature, including the standalone display screen for the updated infotainment system.
Underneath, you’ll find the platform architecture of the M-Class with the two SUVs also sharing their powertrain line-up.
Stuttgart has already confirmed and even teased the introduction of a GLE AMG Sport model powered by a bi-turbo V6 with around 370-horses that will slot between the GLE 400 with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 delivering 329hp (333PS) and the GLE 63 AMG with a 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 producing over 570 horses.
Daimler’s BMW X6 fighter will have its world premiere at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
