Nissan has released the first episode of the “Truckumentary” web series which highlights the design, planning and engineering of the next-generation Nissan Titan pickup truck.

Scheduled to debut at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, the all-new Titan will be the latest in a series of Nissan pickup trucks that go back more than half a century.

In this episode, Brent Hagan of Nissan North America’s product planning team talks us through Nissan pickup trucks from the past, beginning with the 37hp 1960 Datsun 1200, the first truck sold in the US by the Japanese company that would later be renamed Nissan.

“I learned to drive a truck when I could barely reach the pedals and will always keep one in my driveway. My lifestyle dictates the need for a truck and so my wife and I like to joke that if we ever bottom out financially, we’ll sell the house before our pickup,” says Brent Hagan.

Obviously, he sounds like a man who knows his trucks, so scroll down to learn more about old Nissan pickups as he visits the Lane Motor Museum in Nashville, Tennessee.
