The order books for the new Fiat 500X “Opening Edition” are now…well, open! This small crossover looks quite charming and it will be available in only 500 units.
Besides owning this trendy little car, customers can potentially pride themselves for having additional equipment inside the car at no extra cost. 325 of the 500 units will be of the 4×2 “City Look” version, while the other 175 will be the more rugged AWD “Off-Road Look” model. The 4×2 version comes with special “Art Grey” pastel paint, 18″ alloy wheels, Safety Pack (Lane Assist, Blind Spot Assist, ParkView reversing camera and Brake Control collision mitigation system), Comfort Pack (Keyless Entry & Keyless Go, front armrest and electric lumbar adjustment for the front seats), tinted rear windows and of course, an “Opening Edition” badge – all as standard.
Under it’s bonnet lies a 1.4 MultiAir II 140hp engine, while the AWD version hosts a diesel 2.0 MultiJet II 140hp engine, with a 9-speed automatic transmission as standard. This model will be available only in tri-coat “Amore Red” color but it will also come very well equipped – Visibility Pack (rain and light sensors, power folding door mirrors, electro-chromic rear view mirror), steering wheel paddle shifters and of course the “Opening Edition” badge.
All of this will be in addition to HID headlamps, adjustable cargo floor, front floor mats, 18″ alloys, 3.5″ TFT color display and 6.5″ Uconnect infotainment system with 3D satellite navigation – all of which standard on the top of the range Cross Plus model, but will be available on this limited edition version for no extra cost.
This is one generous little crossover, and a few of the 500 lucky owners will already be driving their 500X Opening Edition in May 2015.
