That’s it, ladies and gentlemen: the last of the three hybrid hypercars that was still available to order, the Porsche 918 Spyder, was sold as of November 10. If you missed out, you’ll have to wait for one to come out, sooner or later, in the “used” market – and with a hefty premium.
Well, that was expected since less than a month ago Porsche sales chief Bernhard Maier admitted that a small double-digit number of the US$1,180,000 hypercar remained in the company’s inventory.
With 918 units, the 918’s production run was bigger than that of the Ferrari LaFerrari (499 cars) and the McLaren P1 (375) combined but it’s still a limited edition model. It also boasts the fastest lap time for a production car at the Nürburgring, with 6’57’’, which makes for a nice conversation topic.
