As you probably know, Porsche will only build 918 units of the 918 Spyder hybrid hypercar, all of which have been already sold. But 205 owners of the $1,180,000 sports car will not be very thrilled to hear that their cars will be recalled “as a precautionary measure.”

The cars will be recalled in order for Porsche to replace chassis components. “For vehicles that were manufactured in a certain time period defective parts were used from a delivery batch, whose functionality cannot be permanently guaranteed,” Porsche explained in a release. However, the carmaker did not say what parts were affected.

The company also said no complaints such as a break of a component have been known from customers until now. Porsche identified the problem during in-house quality inspections and remedied it immediately.

The automaker could exactly trace the affected vehicles, whose owners were contacted directly by their Porsche representatives. The company said the workshop visit will take place by appointment at the onset of 2015 and will take about two days to complete at no charge for customers. The affected 918 Spyders have been sold all over the world.
