Qoros has started taking orders for the 3 City SUV 1.6T in China, with the new model starting from RMB139,900 ($22,460). That makes it RMB20,000 ($3,215) more expensive than the entry-level Qoros 3 Hatch.

Launched at a special event at the Aviator Theme Park in Shanghai, the new model is pitched as an ideal vehicle for “both the daily urban commute and the pursuit of weekend leisure activities in the countryside,” according to Qoros. The Qoros 3 City SUV 1.6T is available with a choice of four trim specifications, all powered by Qoros’ European-developed 156hp 1.6-liter turbocharged engine.

Standard equipment for the entry-level Active variant includes the Qoros MMH (Multi Media Hub) infotainment system, Bluetooth for hands free calling and wireless music streaming, all-round electric windows, electric exterior mirrors, keyless start, 17-inch alloy wheels, air-conditioning and dual exhaust pipes.

Style models add the six-speed QorosTroniq 6DCT automatic transmission, dual-zone automatic air-conditioning, cruise control, a rear parking camera and the QorosQloud 3G connected services platform with cloud-enhanced navigation, networking and vehicle monitoring.

Added features on Style Plus models include leather seats (heated and electrically adjustable in the front), as well as automatic folding door mirrors, tyre pressure indicators and a powered tilt/slide sunroof.

Finally, the range-topping Excite model adds Xenon headlamps with adaptive cornering and ‘dusk-sensing’ automatic on-off operation, 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry and keyless start, a rear parking camera with dynamic guideline and distance sensors, and full cabin ambient lighting.
