The revised and restyled Mazda6, the one we really liked when it debuted at the LA motor show, has just been made available for order in the UK where the range kicks off at £19,795. First cars will arrive early next year.
Mazda says all trim levels (SE, SE-L, SE-L Nav and Sport Nav) now come with extra kit, while more tech has been included too. You can now get the 6 with LED headlights, Lane-keep Assist System (LAS), blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert and Rear Smart City Brake Support (Rr SCBS).
The base engine is still the 2.0-liter 145 PS petrol, and in fact, the engine range is carried over with no modifications whatsoever – the larger 2.5-liter petrol unit that’s available in other markets is still not on offer in Europe.
You don’t necessarily have to opt for the diesel to get good economy out of the 6: the base engine returns a claimed 51.4 mpg UK in saloon form, while the diesel 2.2-liter with 150 PS averages 64.2 mpg UK.
