Renault has tried really hard to make the Espace people carrier/crossover stand out. It not only looks very modern in its design, but one of the aims was to make it feel posh, expensive and well screwed together.
It was a goal in and of itself, it seems, and after watching the official video posted below it’s clear that it was by no means an accident. Renault released it not long ago in order to lay to rest possible assembly quality concerns taking feedback from the quality check team leaders working on the car.
Special attention was paid to the paint finish, and now each painted body passes through a light tunnel where it’s thoroughly checked. A problem area is the bottom of the A-pillar where different metals and plastic need to be painted and matched perfectly, and it needs special attention to get right.
The interior, we’re assured, is also put together, and it should be, looking as good and luxurious as it does, we’d expect nothing less, even from a mainstream brand like Renault.
