VW’s E-Load Up! small electric delivery van is now available to buy in Germany, with prices starting from €23,046 ($28,537), excluding 19 percent VAT.
Suitable for service technicians, courier or delivery services, pizza, express or Social Services, the zero-emissions van has a payload of 285 kg (628 lbs) and a boot capacity of 990 liters (35 cu-ft) between the tailgate and dividers.
Based on the four-door E-Up!, the E-Load Up! features a cargo space with a flat bottom that can be loaded by both the tailgate and the two side doors. From the outside, the only differences to the passenger version are the darkened rear windows, side and rear lettering and the load sill protector on the rear bumper.
The 3.54-meter long electric delivery van is powered by an electric motor producing 60kW (82PS) and 210 Nm (155lb-ft) of torque. The latter is available from the first push of the pedal, allowing the E-Load Up! to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 12.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 130 km/h (81 mph).
The electric motor sources energy from an 18.7 kWh lithium-ion battery which provides enough juice for a 160 km (100 miles) driving range when fully charged. The battery supports both DC and AC load and can be charged at most charging stations. It takes 30 minutes to be charged at 80 percent capacity at a fast charging station.
