If you’ve ever wondered what kind of effort went into making a fourth gen Ford Mustang, well, the video posted below details it from raw steel to finished product.
It sees the car take shape from the moment the steel is brought in all rolled up – it’s like that “How It’s Made” show, but it predates it so there are some differences.
The process of how it’s worked into body panels and other useful bits is detailed, and it also gives you a sense of scale – they were rolling out Mustangs at a rate of one every 90 seconds.
The video was shot at Ford’s Rouge Center (which built the Mustang between 1964 – 2004) before it underwent its extensive renovation in 1999. Scroll down and check it out after the virtual jump, but make sure you set aside a little over 20 minutes as it’s not exactly short.
