Now here’s a tuner walking a fine line between personalization and keeping things chic – or at least that’s what this author thinks about Spofec’s Rolls Royce Wraith program.
Spofec, Novitec’s dedicated Rolls Royce tuning arm, has come out with its second job after the Ghost giving the Wraith a selection of styling and performance updates.
Visually, a new front bumper replaces the production part in its entirety and can be combined with a carbon fiber grille, along with wider rocket panels featuring air extractors behind the wheel arches, a discreet boot lid spoiler, and a new rear bumper.
The tuner offers 22-inch wheels in two shades, black or polished, shod in Pirelli performance tires size 265/35 ZR 22 and 295/30 ZR 22 front and rear respectively.
An electronic model for the air suspension drops the ride height of the two-door car by about 40mm at speeds of up to 140km/h (87mph), after which, the body reverts to its factory setting.
A performance kit for the 6.6-liter turbo’d V12 adds 85PS (84hp) and 186Nm resulting in an output of 717PS (707hp) and 986Nm (727 lb-ft), with the Wraith completing the 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint in 4.2 seconds. Top speed remains electronically limited to 250km/h (155mph).
Stopping power is improved with a new carbon-ceramic high-performance braking system with vented discs measuring 405 x 30 and 395 x 38 mm respectively that is said to offer total weight savings of 38kg (84 lbs) over the production brakes.
A further 5kg (11 lbs) are shaved with Novitec’s new stainless-steel sports exhaust system. There’s also a second version with an actively controlled butterfly valve that offers an electronic sound management feature allowing the driver to switch the engine sound “between subtle and powerfully sporty” through a remote control from the dash.
