The facelifted 2015 BMW 6 Series managed to impress exactly nobody because of its lack of key changes to the exterior. The M6 however is a lot more fun to watch on video, for obvious reasons.
The M6 facelift quietly showed up in Detroit, featuring a subtly restyled front and rear aprons, full-LED headlights as standard, new wheels and let’s not even get into the changes they made to the kidney grilles.
What we do like about it is that it looks like it belongs on a circuit thanks to its more aggressive styling (compared to the 640i or 650i) and most of all its 560 HP 4.4 liter V8 unit. It can get the M6 from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.2 seconds – and we’re talking about a 2 tone (1,925 kg) car here.
The M6 family consists of the Coupe, Cabrio and the Gran Coupe version, all of which are show in this video more or less tearing up the track. Why more or less? Because it’s clearly not BMW’s best camera work.
The M6 Gran Coupe’s powerslide at the end is by far the best part.
