The 53rd Rolex 24 will begin at 2 pm on Saturday, Jan. 24. The first race of the 2015 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship and Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup series will be held at Daytona, Florida, and marks the long-awaited return of motor racing in 2015.

“The Rolex 24 At Daytona is the center of the motorsports universe each January, attracting attention from fans of many different racing series,” said David Pettit, International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) vice president, marketing.

This year, the Fox network will be covering the race from 2 pm through 4 pm. Next, Fox Sports 2 will take over to continue coverage from 4 pm to 8 pm. Fox Sports 1 will continue the broadcast from 8 pm to 10 pm.

Unfortunately, the Fox will not cover the race until 7 am on Sunday, where it will broadcast the remainder of the Rolex 24 until the podium ceremony at 2:30 pm. We recommend visiting the official IMSA website to catch the Rolex 24 at Daytona live stream online.

After the qualifying session on Friday, the Michael Shank Racing Ligier JS P2 Honda HPD racing machine managed to grab pole position under the expert hands of driver Oswaldo Negri Jr. This pole marks his second one at the Rolex 24 and his third in his Prototype class career overall.

“It is great to be on pole, as it is never bad when you are on the pole,” said Negri Jr. ” We worked pretty hard even though we knew we had a good package. The combination with Ligier chassis and the Honda engine has been incredible, but we are still learning the car. Every time you get more out it you want more.

“Everything went well, and I knew the DPs were going to be close. I can promise you I took everything that car had. I am really, really happy. The pole position is good for bragging rights only. After all, it is a 24-hour race and the real deal is being there on Sunday and getting the checkered flag.”
