DKW was one of the four original brands that eventually formed Audi. In 1956, it made a vehicle called the Schnellaster Kastenwagen, which roughly translates to Rapid Transit Panel Van, a vehicle powered by a 42 hp two-stroke three-cylinder engine displacing 896cc.
However, DKW also made around 100 fully-electric versions of the vehicle, which were mainly sold to the German electricity company of the time. Of those, only two are known to be left, one of which is the fully restored example you see in the gallery after the virtual jump.
It’s actually been restored by Audi itself, and it will undoubtedly end up a museum piece, even though it can move it self around – power is around 7hp, top speed is 40 km/h (25 mph) and its range is quoted at around 80 km or 50 miles.
