BMW has been one of the stars of the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show. At Las Vegas, they brought along the self-parking i3, the next generation iDrive system with gesture controls and of course this superb M4 Coupe with Laser and OLED Lights.
This concept car featured BMW‘s first laser lights that can also adapt to the road. They function with a help of a camera which scans the road ahead and projects the light in a way in which it doesn’t affect other drivers. It also uses another laser to track down cars in front and better estimate distances.
The car (with its Dynamic Spotlight Detection system) will also send a beam of light shining on any animal or pedestrian near the road to warn the driver of a potential accident.
As for the taillights, well the organic light emitted is a lot warmer and has a sort of 3D look to it. It’s quite spectacular. You can check out how it all looks in the presentation video below, taken at BMW’s CES stand.
