The US loves its trucks; in fact, they’re crazy about them in some parts of the country. And so this basic black Chevrolet Silverado looks like it’s going to be an instant hit.
Called the Silverado Midnight edition, it will make its public debut on February 14th at the Chicago Auto Show, after already having been on display at the National Automobile Dealers Association Convention & Expo in San Francisco.
If you want your truck to look as cool as the one in these images, you have to start with a black Silverado Z71, which already includes off-road suspension, a locking rear diff, Hill Descent Control and a trailering package – to which the Midnight Edition adds: rear park assist and heated power adjusted mirrors, all-black front end with body colored (grille, bumper, headlamp bezels, tow hooks and fog lamps), black side moldings and beltline moldings, 18″ black alloys with Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac all-terrain tires, Special Z71 badges on the doors, black spray-in bedliner and black Chevy logos front & rear.
Sandor Piszar, marketing director for the Silverado said that “The Midnight special edition lets our dealers offer a custom look right from the factory”, which should help grab the attention of customers who otherwise might have been worried about their warranty coverage in case of any after-market optical tuning to their trucks.
The Chevrolet Silverado Midnight edition will be offered in either 1500 double-cab or crew-cab versions and up to 5,000 units will be produced for the 2015 model year. As for the dealers, they can start ordering the trucks this February with package prices ranging from $1,595 to $1,995, depending on the model.
