A Georgia couple vanished last week after responding to a Craigslist ad for a 1966 Ford Mustang.
Upon contacting the Craigslist seller, Bud Runion, 69, and his wife, June Runion, 66, purportedly drove to South Georgia town of McRae from the Atlanta suburb of Marietta last Thursday to check out the vintage 1966 Ford Mustang convertible, but no one has heard from them since, CNN reported.
“He was excited about the car. He had one when he got back from Vietnam,” the couple’s daughter Stephanie Bishop told WSB-TV.
Police have one suspect in custody, 28-year old Ronnie “Jay” Towns, who is believed to be the last known person to communicate with Runion. Towns turned himself in on Monday.
Telfair County Sheriff Chris Steverson told WSB-TV that there were two active warrants for Towns, one “for making false statements to investigators and the other for criminal attempt to commit theft by deception”.
In the meantime, Bishop has setup up a Facebook page dubbed “Find Bud & Jane Runion” and is asking for help to find her parents who were last seen driving a champagne-colored 2003 GMC Envoy.
