Since we love renderings (well, good ones at least) but hate waiting around and speculating, we can’t help but thank the guys over at Car Passion for their take on the upcoming facelifted turbocharged Ferrari 458.

Whether they stick with the M458-T moniker or change it to something else, remains to be seen. But what we do know is that the facelifted 458 will be quicker and better suited to take on the McLaren 650S, Lamborghini Huracan and (ok let’s throw it a bone) the 2015 Corvette Z06.

All three of these cars are quicker to 62 mph than the outgoing naturally aspirated 458 Italia and pretty much just as fast overall if not faster than the 458 Speciale. Seems like nowadays you better have a turbocharged engine or at least get that power down via an all-wheel drive system if you’re sticking to your naturally aspirated cards (see Huracan), otherwise you’re getting left behind.

The M458-T will feature a 3.8 liters twin-turbo V8, good for 670 HP – guaranteed to make it a lot faster than the Speciale. As for the design changes, we don’t have any official info on those, but you can check out this rendering and let us know what you think.

As for its debut, we’ll probably have to wait until the Geneva Motor Show or the one in Frankfurt later this year.
