After Mercedes pulled out all the stops, putting your everyday underdog (the classic fairytale Hare) behind the wheel of its 503 HP AMG-GT S, now it’s KIA’s turn to put their own star behind the wheel of their Sorento SUV.
As much as Pierce Brosnan would have loved going 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds, he soon finds that this project is slightly different from his usual body of work – such as Bond movies or other action/thrillers he’s been in. In fact, as much as he tries to anticipate what it is they’re (we’re assuming the guy he’s talking to is his agent) trying to sell him on, he ends up realizing this is a completely different type of movie.
Actually, the fake script from this KIA commercial does indeed sound like something that 2015’s Pierce Brosnan would star in. But we guess the main idea is to sell both him and the public to this “perfect getaway” vehicle which is the Sorento (apparently). Indeed, the Sorento is a capable car, it’s spacious, has a decent interior, looks good and most of all is great value for money. And we’ll take this ad over KIA’s Australian Open Sorento ad any day of the week. That one was truly ridiculous!
Bottom line, strong ad, good humor, good car and good luck to both teams on Sunday!
