We’ve seen the Aventador at work numerous times, but it doesn’t always win when matched up with another equally fast accelerating car. And if there’s one euro rocket that gets off the line fast, it’s the Porsche 911 Turbo.
Of course, we would have rather seen the Turbo S at work since it’s a much better match than the regular Turbo – which is half a second slower than the Lambo up to 62 mph (100km/h). The Aventador reaches that speed in 2.9 seconds while the 911 Turbo does it in 3.4 seconds (and the Turbo S in 3.1).
Then there’s the power gap, where you get 700 PS in the raging bull and just 520 PS in the 911 Turbo. As for the top speed, its 350km/h (217mph) to 315km/h (196mph) in favor of the Aventador. It’s just hands down a pretty easy win for the Lambo on paper.
These two cars are however, both tuned – Capristo stage 1 for the Aventador totaling 730 PS and MK2 Stage 2 for the 911 at 600 PS, and as you can see from the clip, things went fairly predictable even though the Porsche got off the line much faster, as if the Aventador driver’s reaction time took a slight hit.
At the end of the video you’ll have the 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile and 1000 meter times side by side and you’ll be able to judge for yourself the extent of the damage done to the 911’s ego.
