With the clock ticking down to the Geneva show day in March, Opel is giving us a look at its new sport hatch, the Corsa OPC, or as it will become known in the UK, the Vauxhall Corsa VXR.
In the video released by the Germans, motor racing drive racer Joachim Winkelhock joins Opel CEO Karl-Thomas Neumann taking the partially camouflaged Corsa OPC prototype for a few fast laps around Opel’s Test Center in Dudenhofen.
Setting apart the hotter OPC model from its lesser Corsa siblings is a bodykit with different bumpers and additional spoilers, bigger wheels and a dual exhaust layout, while inside, it gets a pair of body-hugging sports seats at the front, a flat-bottom steering wheel with a thicker rim and unique instrument dials.
Opel won’t hand out details about the engine bay, but it’s believed that the new Corsa OPC will get a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder unit with 210PS / 207hp.
