It’s not very good yet, but unlike the hoverboard we covered in an older article, it’s real. Designed by Toyota engineers to mimic what they saw in movies, it floats by forcing the air and not mercury-based anti-gravity.
It’s actually more of a hovercraft, but without the big side curtains. Controlling it might be problematic – if you check out the video below, you’ll see that when it gets stared up, it just floats away on its own.
The board is nice because it’s real, but they need to improve the design and actually make it safe for a human to hop on. In its current state, it probably can’t carry that much weight – nobody tries it out in the video.
If they manage to produce more thrust (and lift off a bit higher off the ground) as well as find some means of controlling it, then this could become a thing.
