The 2015 Q3 just went on sale for the first time in the United States this fall, but in Detroit, Audi presented the facelifted 2016MY. That’s because the Q3 has been out in Europe since 2011 and it was due for its mid-cycle update.
Still, from a customer perspective, it would have made more sense for Audi to delay its North American launch for a few months until it was ready for the revised 2016 Q3, which is set to go on sale in Europe during the first quarter of 2015.
Audi has not shared a U.S. sales date nor has it confirmed specifications and engine options, but in Europe, the 2.0-liter turbocharged four, which is currently the only unit offered in the U.S.-market 2015 Q3, has 17hp more at 217hp (220PS).
Elsewhere, Audi applied some mild exterior revisions including reworked bumpers, a new, 3-dimensional grille with an aluminum-like surround, refreshed head- and tail-lamps with LED accents, plus new alloy wheel designs, while inside, there are new seats, fresh trims and and a new steering wheel.
