As for most luxury car manufacturers, 2014 was a record year for Porsche as well, with the company delivering 189,850 cars to customers worldwide. That’s an increase of 17 percent over the previous year.

In December 2014, Porsche also broke the 20,000 unit barrier for the first time ever in one month, by delivering 20,644 cars (+39 percent compared to the same month the previous year). The Porsche Cayenne in particular saw strong demand in China in the December: more than 6,400 units were delivered, almost double compared to December 2013.

Porsche’s other SUV, the Macan, had a fantastic first year on the market, with about 45,000 deliveries worldwide. “Our brand experienced an additional upswing in 2014 as a result of the successful launch of the Macan. Worldwide, seventy-five per cent of Macan customers were first-time buyers of a Porsche car,” said Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board Sales and Marketing of Porsche AG.

The German sports car manufacturer also delivered 13 percent more Panamera sports saloons than in the previous year. With over 30,000 units of the 911 sold, Porsche’s core sports car model also ranks above the figures for the previous year.

Porsche sold more cars in all regions and on all markets it is present in. The United States ranked number one with over 47,000 new cars delivered, followed by China, with 46,931 units delivered. The Chinese market recorded the largest growth of all Porsche markets – 25 percent. In Porsche’s home market of Germany, the company sold almost 24,000 vehicles, more than ever before.
