A rear-wheel drive drift car, with a powerful engine and a turbocharger is the exact opposite of a Toyota Prius, which is why the car in the video below is a treat to see in action. We don’t have that many details on it, but the video’s description does say it’s the first of its kind (roughly translated from Japanese, that is).
It obviously no longer uses its original engine, but it’s here that the translation starts to get a bit sketchy. So apparently it has 400 hp and it has indeed been converted to rear-wheel drive, but we don’t know if it’s still a hybrid (still also powered by an electric motor).
Judging by the way it sounds in the footage (which sadly has music dubbed on top of the audi) there is definitely a whine of some sort going on – is it the whine of an electric motor, though?
