Scion is going to display the winner of its 10th annual Tuner Challenge at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show, the “MAXIMUM ATTACK” FR-S created by Speedhunters.
The popular web portal participated in a contest against Super Street magazine and GT Channel. In this media outlet face-off, Scion gave each one a brand new FR-S Release Series 1.0 in order to be customized or re-imagined, depending on where you stand on that matter.
The finished projects were displayed at the last SEMA show and the winner was picked by an online poll, which apparently Scion still keeps open for some reason.
The winner of the competition pays homage to Japanese motorsport tradition blended with some IMSA inspiration and the attention to detail is just stunning. Speedhunters’ Technical Editor Keith Charvonia collaborated with designer Andy Blackmore to create this build in Charvonia’s personal home garage having just 90 days to complete it.
The car itself features a Cosworth Stage 2.0 supercharger, RS*R Black-i coilovers, a Wilwood big brake kit with 6-pistons front/4-pistons rear, custom Rotiform BLQ wheels sized 17×9 front and 17×11 rear and the list goes on and on.
You can check the playlist below to learn pretty much everything about the contest and its beautifully fabricated competitors. Which one would you choose?
