Now that the 2016 Chevrolet Volt is no longer a secret, it’s open season for Photoshop manipulators to guess what the Volt’s European brother, the Opel Ampera, will look like.
It’s not a very difficult exercise, however, given how similar the first generation Ampera is to the original Chevrolet Volt. This trend is expected to continue with the second generation models, which is why Opel designers’ creativity will most likely have very little room to manifest itself.
As before, the most obvious difference between the Volt and the Ampera will be at the front end, where Opel will implant its familiar grille and will probably make subtle changes to the headlights as well. Overall, the rendering from X-Tomi looks very plausible, with the rear end also sporting subtle changes to the taillights.
We’ll find out soon how different the Ampera will be compared to the Volt, as the Opel plug-in hybrid is expected to launch this year.
