You may remember the 2012 Evoque Convertible concept – it looked for all intents and purposes, like a production car. It’s taken nearly three years for Range Rover to decide what to do with it, though, and now we learn it’s closer than ever to seeing the business end of a production line.
The model is expected to do really well in the US, but we really doubt there will be a market for it in Europe. The source of this new information is AutoExpress which portrays it as a sure thing – it says “the go-ahead has been given.”
A possible debut date for the Convertible would be this year’s edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed set to take place at the end of June.
It it proves accurate, then the biggest surprise won’t be seeing the car, but the fact Range Rover went ahead and made it. Looking through the older stories we did, it would appear that a convertible prototype was spotted not long ago by the reader of a different UK-based publication, adding more credibility into the mix.
