BMW continues to baffle us with a white prototype of an M4 Coupe wearing some intriguing new parts.
Captured this time testing out in the open on the snow instead of the Nürburgring racetrack, the mysterious M4 tester with the “Safety Car – Official Car of MotorGP” decals sports a number of items that are not found on the M4 MotoGP or the M4 DTM Safety Cars.
Among these are a large fixed rear wing, a redesigned front bumper with a lip spoiler, larger brakes and a lowered chassis that brings the M4 a little bit closer to the ground.
If this isn’t some sort of an advanced Safety Car prototype, then we could be looking at a forthcoming special edition M4 in the likes of the E92 M3 GTS, which featured similar aerodynamic upgrades along with a 30hp boost in power and a 190kg (419 lbs) reduction in weight over the standard M3 Coupe. No need to tell you which of those two scenarios we prefer…
