Among car fans, there are certain venues that stand out among the others. The old Nürburgring may be the most famous but, as far as street stretches of tarmac go, the Stelvio Pass is probably just as popular.

Located in Italy, close to the border with Switzerland, its top sits at an elevation of 2,757 m (9,045 ft) above sea level. This makes it the second-highest paved mountain pass in the Alps after the Col d I’Seran in France – and that by a mere 13 m (43 ft).

Its altitude is not what makes it special, though. What do are the 75 hairpins, 48 of which on the northern side are numbered with stones. It is quite a challenging route and the view, when you reach the top, is spectacular.

In fact it’s so good that Top Gear named it the greatest driving road in the world, though later they picked the Transfăgărăşan in Romania as its equal or even better.

Vlogger Shmee150 joined a large number of fellow motorists for his first drive up the Stelvio Pass. It was a wild mix, too, ranging from a BMW 6-Series Convertible to Aston Martins, Ferrari 458s and even a Porsche 918 Spyder and a McLaren P1 – and, of course, the Audi R10 Plus Shmee was driving.

The Stelvio Pass being so famous, there was quite some traffic, too. Most of it consisted of motorcycles although, at some point, the convoy encountered a number of cows going downhill. The animals claimed priority over the quite narrow road forcing the drivers to give way. You can watch the pack of supercars climbing the Italian mountain pass right after the virtual break.
