Vauxhall is still trying too hard with the Adam. Its range topping version, with a 150 PS 1.4-liter turbo engine and VXR braking system, could have born a much simpler name comprised of one or two letters, but no, they chose to call it “the Grand Slam…”
Promoted by a marketing department seemingly run by kids, the Adam Grand Slam is much more desirable than any other Adam, so they should not have bothered with the silly name. It not only comes with the most powerful engine in the range, but also unique styling and touches.
“The front lip spoiler, side sill moldings and an extended rear bumper cut-out with a visible, bold exhaust tailpipe make the bodywork appear more muscular then a standard car” says the company. There’s also a small rear spoiler, along with beefy rims. It can be had in any one of ten color choices that can be combined with an additional four for the roof.
Inside, buyers will be able to specify four types of seats. These include Recaro Performance seats as well as two different types of leather. Obviously, the material is used to cover the steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake lever too if you should so choose.
The Adam Grand Slam will be available for order in January of 2015.
