Formula 1 team Red Bull Racing reported a bizarre trophy heist that occurred at their Milton Keynes team HQ on December 5. Now, CCTV footage of the trophy leak is finally revealed.

At least 60 trophies were reported missing from the burglary. Ultimately, only 20 of the trophies were recovered in Horseshoe Lake near Sandhurst approximately two weeks later.

As seen from the footage, a Subaru Legacy wagon without a license plate reverses right through the glass doors of the Milton Keynes building. Next, four burglars in ski masks exit the vehicle and get to work.

According to team principal Christian Horner, the Red Bull trophy heist was a “pointless crime” as the monetary value of the trophies are “minimal.” However, Horner admits that the emotional value of the trophies are huge. Thankfully, the team’s F1 championship and constructors’ awards were not at the factory during the time of the burglary.

“It would be great to see those trophies back in their rightful home here in Milton Keynes,” said Horner.

Authorities believe the trophies were not stolen for the sake of memorabilia, but for scrap value, which explains why one of the thieves threw one of the trophies on the floor. Watch the 13-second Milton Keynes security camera footage in the video below.
