Subaru UK has released details about their updated Forester SUV, which will be featuring a higher quality interior as well as a diesel-Lineartronic CVT powertrain.

Subaru says that pairing their 2.0 liter ‘Boxer’ diesel with a Lineartronic transmission will result in a more relaxing drive, as well as better off-road capabilities for the Forester.

Lineartronic also brings with it Subaru’s Hill Descent Control system, along with the X-Mode system, which manages the car’s power, torque, brakes and drivetrain, in order to maintain traction on difficult surfaces.

Subaru has fitted the Forester with the same high-capacity CVT box found on the 240 PS XT Turbo model, as it will have to manage the turbodiesel’s 350 Nm of torque.

The 148 PS Boxer diesel has also received changes designed to reduce noise, vibration and harshness but also to improve fuel economy. Subaru has also revised the turbocharger settings, and given the Forester a new radiator, oil cooler and radiator fans.

The 2015 Subaru Forester will return as little as 46.3 mpg UK (6.1 liters/100km) while offering the driver a decent 9.6 seconds from 0-62 mph acceleration.

The interior now features piano black accents, updated climate controls and an additional USB port. High spec versions (XC, AC, Premium, XT) will feature a 7″ display for the infotainment system as standard.

The exterior of the car remains unchanged, except for the new shark-fin antenna replacing the old ‘pole’ antenna found on pre-2015 models.

The updated 2015 Subaru Forester will go on sale in the UK starting with April 1st – with a five year, 100,000 mile warranty. Prices start from £24,995 (OTR).
