The Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint was introduced last year so as to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the original Giulietta Sprint from 1954.
Just like the original, today’s car features a 1,400 cc engine, though with more than double the power. Its 1.4 liter turbocharged petrol MultiAir unit has a total output of 150 HP to go with 250Nm of torque – which results in a 0-62 mph time of 8.2 seconds.
The top speed is 130 mph (209 km/h), which is also a lot more than the original could muster up. But we already knew all that. What we didn’t know was how gorgeous the car looks next to the original Giulietta Sprint on video.
Or perhaps the classy feel of the spot is brought on by a combination of the two cars as well as hearing the narration in Italian – you can’t go wrong with that, especially when talking about an Alfa Romeo.
Keep an eye out at the end when they flash that €16.950 price tag, because that’s the price of the entry level 1.4 TB 105 HP Impression version and it doesn’t include any taxes.
In Italy, the 1.4 MultiAir Sprint version will set you back €26.100 with tax, which is €600 less than what you’d pay for a top spec VW Golf 1.4 TSI 150 HP Highline.
