In spite of its great, sharp styling, luxurious-looking interior, decent engines and spirited drive, we’re still not won over by Cadillac’s new ATS Coupe. The car was recently reviewed by CNET and after seeing it we didn’t know if we wanted one or not.
If you buy it for the way it looks alone, then you are definitely on to a winner, as it’s much classier than the Lexus RC, yet a lot more distinctive than a BMW 4-Series, all while making the Audi A5 look older than it is.
I think it’s the prettiest looking of all the coupes in this size bracket, but according to this tech-minded review, it’s actually far from perfect. The ingredients seem to be all there, but Cadillac seems to have misjudged some of the quantities.
With diesel engine options and a not unreasonable price, this could be a hit in Europe, as everybody wants the American styling, but nobody wants the fuel bills or higher costs associated with bigger displacement engines.
