After his new teammate Sebastian Vettel took to a Ferrari FXX K in order to answer fan questions last week, this time it was Kimi’s turn to do so while driving a beautiful red F12 Berlinetta.
As you can see, unlike Seb, Kimi isn’t strapped in tight and isn’t wearing a helmet because he isn’t driving a 1,050 PS hypercar around a track. Still, the F12 Berlinetta is world-class when it comes to exotic GT cars and we learn that it is also Raikkonen’s favorite Ferrari model at the time.
We also learn that Kimi is glad Vettel’s driving style matches his own, which means the team can focus on developing one car (more or less) instead of two cars separately, and that he also prefers the old V10 engined F1 cars to their V8 or newer hybrid V6 alternatives – despite the fact that his Championship winning F2007 car had a V8 engine.
He does argue that the V10 cars used to sound better and have more power, so we’re with him on that one. We’re also excited to see how he performs in the all-new SF15-T 2015 car, which so far is looking extremely promising – having set the fastest times during winter testing at Jerez.
Kimi has the talent and he has the determination. All he needs is a quick car and we might just start seeing him challenge for the podium more this year.
