Priced from £6,995, the Dacia Logan MCV is Britain’s most affordable estate model on sale. And that’s a key element to consider when reviewing this car, as Carbuyer’s Ginny Buckley found out.
The car tested was the entry-level model equipped with the base 75hp 1.2-liter petrol engine, which wasn’t deemed potent enough to deal with a Logan MCV loaded with people and their stuff. The 90hp 1.5-liter dCi diesel would be more recommendable for this sort of car thanks to the better fuel economy and greater torque.
The Logan MCV feels like a budget car to drive: it’s not terrible, but it lacks refinement because of the noise and vibration coming up through the floor. The transmission can be a pain to get into gear at times, while the steering is found as stiff and heavy.
It’s not a very comfortable car either, and that’s because of the hard seats and harsh ride. But there’s a bright side: it’s got an enormous boot, there’s space for three adults on the passenger seat and it costs… just under seven grand. Scroll down to watch the review.
