Kahn Design will unveil a 6×6 stretched version of a Land Rover Defender in the form of a concept called Flying Huntsman 110 WB 6×6 in the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
Judging by the huge positive response to the freakin’ awesome Mercedes G63 AMG 6×6, Kahn Design’s decision to make a car like this seems reasonable enough.
The Kahn Design’s six-wheeler will be powered by a GM LS3 6.2-litre V8 engine sending 430bhp to all six wheels via an also six-speed automatic gearbox. Staying true to its off-road credentials, the Flying Huntsman features a hi-lo ratio drive system and locking differentials, combined with upgraded brakes and suspension. Kahn Design says that “this modern British icon will comfortably outrun any roadgoing SUV”.
Compared to a standard Land Rover Defender 110, the Flying Huntsman 6×6 is longer by 1200mm and wider by 150mm. The difference in length comes from a 400mm extension to the bonnet and a 800mm extension to the rear cabin. The windscreen rake has been increased as well as the rear and passenger doors’ width, in order to allow “improved entry and egress”.
The company says that it can offer armoured variants if asked, along with up to five other potential versions of the Flying Huntsman including 4 and 6 wheeled models. The final details though regarding the production and the available versions will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.
