After launching the facelifted Morning pictured above in Korea in January, Kia announced plans to unveil its global market twin, the 2015 Picanto, at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
While the Korean carmaker detailed the changes for the revised Picanto, strangely, it did not release any photos, though, with the exception of the updated interior trim, we expect it to look identical to the 2015 Morning.
Kia said that on the outside, the refreshed Picanto boasts redesigned front and rear bumpers, along with a slimmer and wider ‘tiger-nose’ grille, new 14-inch alloy wheel designs and the availability of an optional sport package.
Inside, the global market Picanto will get new chrome accents around the instrument binnacle and dashboard air vents, a different fascia for the audio system surround, and a new cloth upholstery pattern.
In addition, Kia will add several new optional features including the latest version of Kia’s AVN (audio-video navigation) system with a 7.0-inch display screen, cruise control, a speed limiter system and a series of three interior color packs named Red, Yellow and Brown, the latter with artificial leather seats, brown door accents and high-gloss piano black dashboard trim.
Under the hood, Kia made some minor changes to the car’s 1.0-liter gasoline engine in order to meet the more stringent Euro 6 emissions standards, while adding larger 252mm front brakes as an option, which allow the 2015 Picanto to stop from 100km/h (62mph) in 37 meters (121 feet), an improvement of 2 meters (6.5 feet).
The facelift model will go on sale across Europe by the end of March.
