The all-new Hyundai i20 Coupe goes on sale on March 26 in the UK with a starting price of £12,725 on-the-road (OTR).
The price corresponds to the entry level SE trim, which includes standard features such as 16-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control with speed limiter, rear parking sensors and rear spoiler.
Those who want more can opt for the Sport trim, which adds 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic lights, auto dimming review mirror, climate control with auto defog and privacy glass. The i20 Coupe Sport is priced from £13,725.
Finally, the range-topping Sport Nav model adds integrated satellite navigation with 7-inch touch screen, Rear View Camera and DAB radio for a £14,400 starting price.
Engine options for the Hyundai i20 Coupe don’t sound very sporty. They include a 1.2-liter petrol unit with 84PS (83hp) and a 1.4-liter diesel with 90PS (89hp). The petrol engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission, while the diesel gets a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. However, Hyundai promised a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine later in 2015 which will hopefully break the 100hp barrier.
Exclusively for the i20 Coupe, Hyundai has introduced a new exterior color called Tangerine Orange, which is combined with a black interior with orange inserts. “The addition of the New Generation i20 Coupe means that the i20 range now has a sportier edge, boosting its appeal to younger audiences,” said Tony Whitehorn, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor UK.
The Hyundai i20 Coupe is built at the company’s Turkish manufacturing plant in Izmit, alongside the new generation i20 five-door.
