So far, the praise has kept rolling in the reviews of the all-new Mazda MX-5/Miata, and the one from KBB is not different. A pattern is starting to emerge amongst reviewers, where they praise its purity, looks and driving dynamics.
By purity I mean the lack of weight which translates into an “alive” feeling while on the move. This was deliberately replicated from the first-generation car. It also looks much more purposeful than before, and you can really notice the positive effect of the shorter overhangs.
They’ve also nailed it, I think, in terms of body to wheels proportionality. Even the base 15-inch wheels look suitable on it. That’s good because rubber goes up in price exponentially along with size and performance, and this is, after all, an entry-level sports car if we’ve ever seen one.
It’s notably more entry level than the Toyota GT86 and siblings, but not in a bad way.
